The final race on the 2016 First Mile calendar took place on December 3rd in Bethlehem, CT. The 3rd running of the Santa Made Me Do It brought 170 runners and walkers, many in holiday costumes, to the Bethlehem Town Green.
The day’s events started with a Kid’s Fun Run, all winners. Then at 10:00, runners and walkers lined up and started their run through historic Bethlehem.
After completing the rolling course through the rural countryside, runners finished at the Town Green. The overall winners were Rob Polansky of Meriden in 19:39 and Natalia Carvalho from Naugatuck in 21:50. The 2nd and 3rd place male winners were Jack Paulin from and John Minervino and the 2nd and 3rd place females were Donna Poliquin and Elizabeth Wright.
After the race, many participants stayed for the 36st Annual Christmastown Festival. Go here for complete race results and here for race photos.
