The Boombox Mile has been run on the parade route of the famous Boombox Parade since 2003. This fast, point-to-point , certified mile takes place an hour before the parade before hundreds of spectators assembled along the route. After the race, stay for the parade, one of the most unique in the nation.

Join us for this family-friendly event on July 4th, 2023!

Please join us on July 4th, 2023, when the 18th running of the BOOMBOX MILE will take place. Run this fast one mile course past cheering spectators as you make your way down Main St through Willimantic’s historic downtown. Once the race is over, make your way back to the start for post-race awards and light snacks and stay in town for the Parade; both family-friendly events
